Sisterhood

Join us for Sisterhood Shabbat:  January 11, 2013

Lakeside Sisterhood is the collective voice of women within our community. Made up of a diverse group spanning all ages and lifestyles, our goal is to provide a mutual support system for our members and our greater congregational family.

Just a few of the things we do for Lakeside Congregation.
For women: Every year Sisterhood offers programs to enhance the lives of its members. Some are educational, some are spiritual, and some are just for fun.
For children: Sisterhood funds scholarships to the camp at Olin Sang Ruby, provides challah to religious school students each Sunday and Tuesday, and provides gifts to b’nai mitzvah students.
For families:Sisterhood sponsors programs to foster warmth and familiarity among congregants such as the evening at Ravinia. Sisterhood also sponsors the Yom Kippur Break-the-Fast, annual Sisterhood Shabbat, and the Women's Seder. Our Caring Community offers a variety of services to families coping with illness, death, and other serious problems.
Special projects: Our dues and fund-raising activities enable Sisterhood to provide support for projects that are important to the entire Lakeside community. Sisterhood has participated in walks for breast cancer awareness, support programs for Katrina victims, and fundraising for our recent bone marrow drive.
Gift Shop: Sisterhood also operates Lakeside’s gift shop, and sells invitations for b’nai mitzvot. Check out our gift shop if you need to buy a gift for a holiday or lifecycle event, or just want to treat yourself!  All proceeds support activities of Lakeside Congregation.
