At Lakeside Congregation, our identity has always been closely tied to social justice. We approach our commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) through congregational education, activism, advocacy and dialogue. Click on the image below to watch highlights from Social Action at Lakeside!
Many of our efforts are focused on food insecurities, a major problem in the Chicago area - but we also address many other topics including environmental issues, fair trade, violence, Anti-Semitism and working to alleviate the suffering of refugees who have experienced war and persecution and are now rebuilding their lives. Our commitment to social justice infuses not just our congregational life but our children's religious education as well.
