Lakeside Congregation is certified as a Safer Synagogue by Jewish Community Abuse Resources, Education & Solutions (JCARES). JCARES offers an array of educational opportunities and resources to expand awareness, increase understanding, and promote an inclusive, respectful response to address abuse across the Jewish community. The coalition works to perpetuate peaceful communities, support Jewish homes and healthy relationships, and influence collective action, working toward social justice and institutional change centered around abuse across the lifespan.
Lakeside's leadership and staff have been trained in understanding the impact of abuse across the lifespan - from keeping our children safe to maintaining the well-being of the elderly - and have policies and procedures in place to improve access to support for congregants experiencing abusive situations. If you or a loved one is in need of confidential assistance, please contact the Lakeside Office at (847) 432-7950.
