Lakeside's Library

Lakeside’s library offers an impressive collection of multi-media materials geared from preschoolers through adulthood. Subjects range broadly and include nonfiction, fiction, and topics dealing with worship, holidays, family issues, spirituality, Torah, Israel and ethics. We also feature DVDs and music selections.

Margaret Burka serves as Lakeside’s long-term librarian and does an exceptional job of purchasing and cataloguing all the materials. She diligently researches new releases to keep our library up to date. Margaret has a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Chicago’s Library School and users are encouraged to take advantage of her knowledge to recommend books that will bring enrichment to their lives. You will also find Margaret at Lakeside on Sunday mornings throughout the year as she works closely with Lakeside's Religious School classes.

The Library is generally available for self-guided use whenever Lakeside is open, and specifically when the Adult Education classes are in session. Materials can be checked out by members by writing your name on the green card inside the book cover and leaving the card on the library desk. Books should be returned in approximately three weeks either to the library or to the Lakeside Office.

When not in use for a class or meeting, our library is available to members for a quiet place to read, study, or just daydream!
